The junior high technology class, Tech 2, is an exploratory trimester class designed to introduce students to the areas of technology. Students apply math and science in exploring project-based learning with activities such as sketching, drafting, CAD, skimmer vehicle, and other projects.
The main activity is the cardboard boat hull design accumulating with a boat race in the swimming pool. Students are introduced to the areas of technology: biotechnology & nanotechnology, communication & design, manufacturing & construction, power & transportation. The class is designed to examine technology in our world, and to share career and hobby opportunities for the future.
